Barcelona's superstar Lamine Yamal got injured during the national team gathering with Spain, where he started Spain's both World Championship qualifying matches against Bulgaria and Turkey.

The 18-year-old missed "Barca's" league match against Valencia on Sunday (which ended 6–0). Now the club confirms that Yamal will also miss the team's Champions League premiere against Newcastle on Thursday.

That the superstar returned from the national team gathering injured, with "discomfort in the pelvic area", upset Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, who accused Spain of playing Yamal despite being aware of his injury. Something the association denies.

The injury to the star may open up for more playing time for Swedish superstar Roony Bardghji, who competes for the same position.

The match between Newcastle and Barcelona is played at St James Park at 21.00 Swedish time.
