Joakim Lagergren made a fantastic round the second day of the European Tour golf tournament at the Irish The K Club. The Swede is in sole lead after having gone on 62 strokes, ten under par. Ireland does me good, says Lagergren.

The round included nine birdies and an eagle – he made a bunker shot on the 18th hole.

The course is very difficult and I could not dream of shooting -10 at The K Club, says Lagergren to the tour's website.

I played very well and my putter was very hot. Made many putts today, I did that yesterday too, but then I did not play at the top. Trained with the coach yesterday afternoon and must have found something then.

The only blunder was a bogey on a par three hole.

The 33-year-old is -12 total and is one stroke ahead of the Frenchman Adrien Saddier and five strokes ahead of a quintet of players, including the star Rory McIlroy.

Lagergren seems to thrive at K Club. Last year he won there in a competition on the European challenge tour.

Ireland does me good, says Lagergren.
