The news was presented in connection with Netflix's fan event in Los Angeles, where Gaga herself appeared and performed a Wednesday-inspired stage performance. She rose from a coffin marked with the text "The monster queen rests here", and performed "Zombieboy" and "Abracadabra". She also performed a dance to The Cramps' song "Goo Goo Muck", a nod to the dance scene from the series' first season.
A six-minute long teaser of the new season was also released over the weekend. It reveals that Wednesday spent the summer locked up in a serial killer's (Haley Joel Osment) basement.
Lady Gaga has previously appeared in films such as "A Star is Born", "House of Gucci" and the upcoming "Joker: Folie à deux", as well as in the TV series "American Horror Story". For "A Star is Born", she won an Oscar for best original song and was also nominated for best female lead role.
