Some songs into the concert, she ripped off her red dress and showed off the outfit underneath: Yet another dress, sewn in the colors of the Brazilian flag.

You have been waiting for over ten years. You continued to cheer me on. Tonight, I will give you my all, she said.

This was Lady Gaga's first concert in the country since 2012. She was supposed to perform in Rio in 2017, but was forced to cancel several shows due to health reasons.

Rio City had expected around 1.6 million fans, but reported a attendance figure of 2.1 million later.

Rio's mayor Eduardo Paes, who was re-elected for a four-year term last year, has promised to bring a major international artist to the city every May. In May 2024, Madonna concluded her tour with a free performance on Copacabana, one of the world's most famous beachfronts.
