The 28-year-old was convicted in a Spanish court on Monday despite his denials. The plaintiff was a 21-year-old woman. Prosecutors had sought a ten-and-a-half-year prison sentence for Mir for a crime that took place in September 2024 at Mir's then home in Valencia.
Striker Rafa Mir belongs to La Liga team Sevilla, but has been on loan to Valencia and Elche in recent seasons.
