"The oil tanker was subjected to a direct and malicious Iranian attack while it was in the anchorage area at the port of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates," the state-run Kuna news agency wrote, citing Kuwait's state oil company.
No one was reported injured in the attack on the ship; however, four people were injured elsewhere in Dubai when air defenses fought off an incoming missile.
