The party received nearly 43 percent of the vote, not enough to form a government on its own. It also represents a major loss from the previous election in December, when the party received 51 percent of the vote.
After winning the election in February last year, Kurti failed to gather a majority to form a government. The political crisis led to new elections in December, which also failed to break the deadlock.
The new election results indicate that difficult coalition negotiations await.
