Dejan Kulusevski remained goalless in Sweden's Nations League matches away to Slovakia (2–2) and Estonia (3–0) earlier in October. However, in the restart of the English league football, the 24-year-old star showed that the goal form from the end of September had been preserved.
After Mohammed Kudus gave West Ham the lead after a quarter of an hour, Kulusevski equalized for Tottenham in the 36th minute, a shot with his left foot that went via both posts and into the net. The goal was the Swede's second in three league matches after he scored his first PL goal of the season in the 3–0 win away to Manchester United three weeks ago.
The home team then took off in the second half and went from 1–1 to 4–1 in eight minutes after goals from Yves Bissouma and Son Heung-Min, as well as an own goal by West Ham's goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, whose hands were last on the 3–1 ball. Kulusevski was involved in the preparation of the own goal, where Son, who made his comeback after an injury, was the Tottenham player who finished.
In the final minutes, derby feelings boiled over for some players, and a brawl broke out. West Ham's goal scorer Mohammed Kudus was sent off after a VAR review, having put his hands in the face of a Tottenham player.
Lucas Bergvall, who left Sweden's NL squad with a slight injury feeling ahead of Monday's match against Estonia, sat on Tottenham's bench for the entire match.
With the win, "Spurs" moved up to sixth place with one more match played than the teams in the upper half of the table. West Ham lies in 14th place.
