Kristianstad led 2–1 in matches heading into Friday night's fourth match, which would prove to be decisive. Despite a closely contested match, the away team pulled off the victory and won their tenth Swedish Championship gold.

The Kristianstad players were not completely satisfied with their play after the first half, but still had the upper hand at halftime.

The team began the second half with a three-goal lead, but Malmö was able to quickly close in on the orange-clad team.

“Love each other”

The home team closed the gap several times during the second half, as Kristianstad pulled away time and time again.

However, Malmö never managed to turn the deficit into a lead. Malmö's Swedish national team player, Nikola Roganovic, played well and scored 13 goals.

With less than ten minutes left in the match, Kristianstad led by two goals and, despite pressure from Malmö, held on to win 41–38 and take the final series 3–1 in matches.

"Damn it, I love this team. We are an extremely strong team, we love each other very much. Then there are some really good handball players too," said right-back Albin Nilsson Selin to Handbollsligan Live about why Kristianstad is the Swedish champion.

Månsson player of the match

The winning team's main producer in the match was midfielder Axel Månsson, who scored twelve goals.

"It feels pretty good, actually. What a season we are having," said Månsson, whose team also won the cup this season.

"What joy and relief. Now this season is over. Now it's time for a little vacation, it's absolutely fucking wonderful. I get to celebrate properly this weekend."

The last time Kristianstad won SM gold was in 2023, and it is the club's tenth overall.
