Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) has commented on the two suspected femicide cases committed in recent days.

On Christmas Day, a 55-year-old woman was murdered in Boden, and on Sunday, a person was arrested on suspicion of killing a 25-year-old woman in Rönninge, southwest of Stockholm.

"There is much that we still do not know, and the police are now carrying out their important work of investigating what happened in both cases. But what is already known is nightmarish and leads to anxiety and fear, not least among many women," writes Kristersson.

"I understand that nothing can be said right now that will ease the grief of the victims' families and relatives, but they should know that my thoughts are with them, and that there are many of us who bear the grief with them," he continues.
