Sweden's national intelligence council gathered on Friday to discuss the recent violations of European countries' airspace. "We are prepared", says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in a comment.

In the Intelligence Council, among others, the heads of the Security Police, the Defence Radio Establishment and the Military Intelligence and Security Service are included.

The council gathered to discuss the situation since several European countries have had their airspace violated. Among other things, Denmark has been affected by a series of incidents with drones at several airports and Russian fighter jets have violated Estonia's airspace.

"In recent weeks, we have seen airspace violations in several European countries. Swedish authorities are working hard and following developments – in the air, on the ground, on and under the surface – around the clock", says Kristersson in a comment after the meeting.

He further says that: "The Swedish people do not need to be worried – but the Swedish people should know that we are prepared".
