The issue of security guarantees for Ukraine after the war has become "clearer and more credible" during tonight's meeting in Berlin, believes Ulf Kristersson (M). "That in itself is an important step towards a sustainable peace," the Prime Minister says in a written statement.

Ulf Kristersson participated in Monday evening's meeting with several European leaders, American envoys and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

He calls it a constructive meeting and says that it was good that Ukraine, the US and Europe "for the first time in a long time sat down together and discussed the possibilities and problems of a peace agreement."

However, Kristersson says that many difficult questions remain.

"Not least about territories and whether Russia wants peace at all. But now there is a momentum that is important, and we will continue the intensive work in the coming days," he writes.
