Sweden and India have previously collaborated in the Leadership Group for Industry Transition, LeadIT, to help heavy industry achieve the Paris Agreement's climate goals.
"We therefore call for a broadening and deepening of this coalition until 2030," they write in a debate article in Dagens Industri, saying more countries should join and actively contribute to its work.
"The green transition can only succeed if it delivers concrete growth and progress for citizens," they write.
Modi is in Gothenburg from May 17 to 18 for bilateral talks with Kristersson.
