The claim by the power headquarters in Moscow that Navalny was killed by the poison epibatidine is unfounded.
"Of course, we do not accept such accusations. ... We consider them biased and groundless," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the AFP news agency and other media.
The assessment by experts from Sweden, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands came last Saturday.
According to the experts, "Russia claimed that Navalny died of natural causes. However, given the toxicity of epibatidine and the reported symptoms, poisoning was the most likely cause of death. Navalny died while in prison, which means that Russia had the means, motive, and opportunity to give him the poison."
