Kovács the home hero in debut

Goals and assists in the debut for the new club. But Linköping's Robin Kovács didn't want to talk about a dream debut. No, then I would have scored a hat-trick, he says after the 3–2 win over Brynäs in the SHL premiere.

The silky forward was finalized late for Linköping and arrived in town at the end of August from Swiss Lausanne.

But he has adapted quickly.

It became a penalty goal and an assist when Linköping won over newcomer Brynäs with 3–2 in front of a sold-out crowd, 8,150 spectators.

I was positively surprised, nice tifo and good pressure. As long as we deliver and win matches, they will come back, says the 27-year-old Stockholm native who previously represented Örebro and Luleå in SHL.

He was recruited as a player who, with his point production, should be able to make a difference.

And he made a difference already in his debut with the assist to 1–1 and an ice-cold penalty goal to 2–1.

Absolute, really nice. As a point player, you want to get going as quickly as possible. It's nice to score goals and points in the first match, says Kovács.
