The 36-year-old suffered the injury in March during the London City Lionesses' clash with West Ham, with the club later announcing that several major ligaments in her knee - including the anterior cruciate ligament - had been torn.
"I suffered the kind of injury every footballer fears. When it was confirmed, my heart was broken," Asllani wrote on Instagram.
Now she has published a new post about the injury.
With pictures and a short text, the star announces that she has had surgery. Judging by one of the pictures, where she gives a thumbs up, the cruciate ligament surgery was successful.
