Kongsberg recently bought 90 percent of the shares in the American company Zone 5 Technologies, which specialises in mass production of airborne drones for defence against large drone attacks.
Eirik Lie wants eventually to source 100 percent of the components needed for production from Europe, according to an interview in Oslo. But he did not say which European countries Kongsberg is in talks with about production facilities.
Kongsberg expects annual sales of 33 billion in 2025 to have tripled by 2029 and expects to need to recruit 500-700 people per year over 2-3 years.
