Kommunal issues a warning of conflict in the area of privately employed personal assistants.

The conflict concerns a blockade against new hires and hiring of personnel and applies to approximately 35,000 employees, according to a press release from the LO union Kommunal.

The union motivates the industrial action by stating that the employer party Almega does not want to agree that part-time employees should receive the same overtime compensation as full-time employees.

"Kommunal's demands are completely impossible and mean that the economic conditions for running serious personal assistance disappear", says Vårdföretagarna's chief negotiator Per Östlund in a press release and points out that the state's compensation to personal assistance is only increased by 1.5 percent next year.

Corrected: In an earlier version of the text, there was an inaccuracy about the scope of the blockade.
