Dominic “Dom” Taylor knocked out Sweden’s Oskar Lukasiak from the World Darts Championship. He did so with a prohibited substance in his system and is therefore thrown out of the ongoing championship in London.

The 27-year-old Englishman Taylor has tested positive for a prohibited substance during the World Darts Championship and is suspected of having violated doping rules, the organizer, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), said on its website.

The doping test was conducted on December 14, after Taylor knocked out Swede Oskar Lukasiak from the World Championship in the first round.

On Friday, the PDC was informed of the test result and immediately disqualified Taylor.

"The matter will now be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with applicable anti-doping rules," the organizer announced.

The organizer does not state what Taylor has tested positive for nor whether Swede Lukasiak is offered a new chance in the tournament.

It is the second time in Taylor's relatively short career at the top level that he has violated anti-doping rules. Last fall, he was also caught using a prohibited substance and was suspended for a month, which resulted in him missing last year's World Championships.
