The police were alerted to the incident at 12:31. Many people witnessed the event and called the police. The incident occurred in or outside a deli shop at an indoor food market in Oslo.

The situation at the scene was chaotic and members of the public had begun first aid, according to Thomas Johannesen, rescue leader, to NRK. According to witnesses, many screams were heard from inside the deli shop.

Three people are involved in the incident. The police believe that they knew each other and that it was not a random attack.

All three have stab wounds. It's too early to say who did what, says Rune Hekkelstrand, operations leader at the Oslo police.

The police have begun questioning witnesses and investigating the incident in other ways. It is still unclear what led to it. Forensic technicians are on site.
