One of the members of the controversial Irish rap group Kneecap is formally accused of a crime against the British anti-terrorism legislation, announces the London police. He is suspected of having waved a Hezbollah flag during a concert in November last year.

It is the 27-year-old Liam O'Hanna, who according to the police has acted in a way that has created a "reasonable suspicion to believe that he is a supporter of a prohibited organization". He is to appear in court on June 18.

Kneecap has been the subject of a police investigation since a video from the performance spread in April and the group has been accused of supporting both the Palestinian Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah, as well as inciting violence against British politicians.

On Monday, Kneecap denied supporting Hamas and Hezbollah and apologized to the families of murdered British politicians.
