In connection with Nagelsmann's departure, the German Football Association (DFB) confirmed that discussions are underway with Klopp.
"I can confirm that talks are ongoing. It picked up speed quite quickly," he says on German MagentaTV, according to Sky.
The 59-year-old Klopp - who was a popular coach at the big club Liverpool for nine years until 2024 - is now the football director of the Red Bull Group.
"In the best-case scenario, there are only winners in the end. Red Bull must be able to get out of this in a good way. Right now it's not the perfect timing, but it's better than it's ever been," Klopp said.
