Klæbo suffered a mild concussion when he crashed during his home sprint in Drammen last week. Until the very end, it was uncertain whether he would travel to Lake Placid, New York, to take part in the final World Cup weekend of the season.
Now the 29-year-old has received the go-ahead from the medical team, and on Wednesday night the almost 24-hour journey from his home in Trondheim began.
"I'm going to do my best, despite poor training and possible jet lag. The first race is already on Friday. If I do one, two or three races in Lake Placid, I'll decide when I get to the USA and get skis on my feet," Klæbo said in a statement.
