14 World Championship golds. Now Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has surpassed Petter Northug – and is the most World Championship gold medalist on the men's side ever.

Norway dominated the men's relay and on the final stretch, Klæbo could grab a Norwegian flag and glide comfortably over the finish line.

It was cool. I got a perfect starting position, so it was just a matter of enjoying it. I felt good from start to finish, he says to NRK.

Norway has now won all five men's competitions in this year's World Championship – with Klæbo involved in all of them.

And today's relay gold definitely wrote him into the history books.

14 World Championship golds and with that, he surpasses Petter Northug's record of 13.

He also has the opportunity to extend the gold record and take his sixth gold in this year's World Championship, with the 50km on Saturday.

  1. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, Norway, 14 gold.

  2. Petter Northug, Norway, 13 gold.

  3. Bjørn Dæhlie, Norway, 9 gold.

  4. Gunde Svan, Sweden, 7 gold.

  5. Thomas Alsgaard, Norway, 6 gold.
