Markström is expected to be out for four to six weeks due to a knee injury he sustained with New Jersey on January 22.

Ersson has won 15 matches for his Philadelphia Flyers this season. His average is 2.77 conceded goals per match and his save percentage is 89.3.

The other goalkeepers selected for Tre Kronor's squad for the tournament are Minnesota's Filip Gustavsson and Ottawa's Linus Ullmark.

Ersson and Gustavsson were goalkeepers in Tre Kronor's World Championship team that took bronze in 2024.

They are primarily two good people to have and work with. Both have taken a step forward in their play this year, said national team coach Sam Hallam earlier in the week.

The tournament will take place from February 13 to 21 in Montreal and Boston.

February 13: Canada–Sweden (02.00, Montreal).

February 14: USA–Finland (02.00, Montreal).

February 15: Finland–Sweden (19.00, Montreal).

February 16: USA–Canada (02.00, Montreal).

February 17: Canada–Finland (19.00, Boston).

February 18: Sweden–USA (02.00, Boston).

February 21: Final (02.00, Boston).

All dates and times are given in Swedish time.
