Klarna Replaces CEO with AI Avatar for Quarterly Report

The payment giant Klarna replaced its CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski with an AI clone when the latest quarterly report was presented in bullet points.

It's me, or rather my AI, that's here to share the highlights of the first quarter, says the avatar in the video clip.

According to Techcrunch, which reported on the event, there were only small signs that it wasn't the real Siemiatkowski. The avatar blinked less, and the voice sync wasn't perfect.

Klarna says it has set a standard for "practical AI implementation", by reducing the workforce by 40 percent.

"96 percent of the employees use AI daily", writes the company.
