The team finished with 72.869 percent in the Grand Prix. The performance was enough for third place. Kittel was happy with most things except...

"I didn't really get the initial hold, which was expensive in terms of points, but otherwise it was very harmonious. A podium place was the goal for the freestyle, so of course it's great," he told the Equestrian Federation.

In the freestyle, the team starts over from scratch.

"We're definitely going to give it our all. He's very strong in the freestyle and so am I. I can't wait. I almost find it hard that you have to have a day in between; I just want to ride again," says Kittel.

British rider Becky Moody won the GP class, riding Jaegerbomb.
