Marcus Kinhult plays fine golf in the sweltering heat at Leopard Creek CC next to Krugerparken in eastern South Africa.
The 28-year-old was second after the first day's 65-round and followed up with 68 strokes on Friday. Kinhult made seven birdies but also three bogeys, which was enough to take the lead after half the competition.
It was a good day, so I'm happy, says Kinhult in Viaplay's broadcast.
The native of Bohuslän went out early in the day and avoided the worst heat initially.
After five-six holes, I took out the umbrella and tried to hide under it for the rest of the day.
Kinhult is eleven under par overall, and leads by a three-stroke margin down to Englishman Dale Whitnell, Italian Andrea Pavan, and South African Dean Burmester.
Marcus Kinhult took his only victory so far on the European Tour when he won the British Masters in 2019. This summer, he finished second in the Netherlands, after playing a playoff for the win.
