King Carl Gustaf congratulates godson Haakon on becoming Norway’s new king

"Dear godson!", writes Carl Gustaf in a telegram after Haakon VII has sworn his oath in the Storting in Oslo.

He continues: "It is my hope that you feel great support from your godfather, from your Swedish family and from the entire Swedish people as you now assume your high office as King of Norway."

Carl Gustaf expresses his sadness at King Harald's passing and sends his best wishes to the new king and Queen Mette-Marit.
