Kim Kardashian came to the French court to be questioned about the events that took place almost ten years ago. With tears in her eyes, the reality star recounts in her own words what happened during the fashion week in Paris in October 2016 when several armed men broke into her suite at the Hôtel de Pourtalès.

Kardashian thought it was the police. Slowly but surely, it dawned on her that it was intruders rummaging around in search of valuables. Kardashian tried to call her bodyguard, who lived at another hotel, but someone took the phone from her.

They grabbed me on the bed and carried me along the corridor for more jewelry and other things, she says.

The risk of being raped

One of the men held a gun to her back and tied her up with rope. Since she only had a bathrobe on and was naked underneath, Kardashian was convinced that she would be subjected to an assault.

I'm convinced that he would rape me. I said a prayer to prepare myself mentally, she recounts.

The presiding judge David Du Pas asks Kim Kardashian if she would die?

I absolutely thought I would die, she says quietly.

Kardashian was afraid that her sister Kourtney would come home to the hotel and find her dead in the suite.

I would be shot dead on the bed, and she would see it and have the memory for eternity, says Kardashian.

The robbers took her into the bathroom before quickly leaving the hotel room. Kardashian managed to get free after a few minutes, but the incident has left deep scars, she recounts in court.

Enormous media interest

The media interest has been huge, and an enormous press corps met Kardashian when she came to court in central Paris together with her mother Kris Jenner.

According to the prosecutors, Kardashian was robbed of jewelry worth ten million dollars. Ten people are standing trial for the heist, most in their 60-70s. Several have already confessed.

Several of the robbers will get to speak in court after Kardashian's questioning. They apologize. A letter from one of the accused is read out in court. In the letter, the man apologizes for what happened.

I really appreciate the letter. I forgive you, says Kardashian with tears in her eyes.

But it doesn't change the feelings, the trauma, and how my life has changed.
