"It will be exciting to challenge myself in a completely new role. I hope to be able to use the experience I have accumulated over all my years as a player at the highest level," Kim Andersson told the club's website.
The 43-year-old officially ended his playing career after winning the Swedish Championship with Ystad last season. This season, Kim Andersson is an assistant coach alongside Oscar Carlén, but he has also made some appearances on the field.
"There was certainly a clear agenda when Kim was appointed assistant coach, and he has always been our first option. We knew that there was great interest in Oscar and wanted to prepare Kim to take over the main responsibility when the time was right," said sports director Kenneth Andersson.
