In the age category six to nine years, it is Mikaela Fenner Alsins' book "Christmas Chaos with Tage" that has been voted as the winner by the elementary school children.
"The driving force behind my writing is about making children feel good, laugh and get a break from reality – which can sometimes be tough. That's why I'm so incredibly happy when children themselves tell me how much they love the cat Tage", says the author in a press release.
In the age category nine to twelve years, "The Journey to Utopia" by Mikaela and Erik Wennstam wins, and in twelve to sixteen years, "We'll Just Become Beggars Anyway" by Rihab Garci.
The Great Book Vote is a reading promotion initiative by the Bonnier Family Foundation together with the publishers Bonnier Carlsen and Rabén & Sjögren. It is the first time the prize is awarded and 6,500 children and young people from 450 schools across the country have participated in the voting.
