Kevin De Bruyne scored a goal on penalty, clutched his thigh and went out injured. Napoli now announce that the Belgian has suffered a serious muscle injury.

The superstar was forced to leave already in the first half when Napoli defeated Inter with 3–1 in Serie A.

The Belgian scored 1–0 on penalty, grabbed his thigh and was forced to leave the pitch.

Now Napoli confirms that the 34-year-old has suffered a serious muscle injury in the right thigh.

According to the Belgian newspaper HLN, it is an injury that usually requires about six weeks of rehabilitation.

Despite the setback, Napoli can be pleased that the team continues to top Serie A – on the same points as Roma, both with 18 points scored after the initial rounds.
