After an injury-plagued autumn, Tyler Kelleher was back on home ice for the first time since October 25.
And the comeback came at a suitable time – on his 30th birthday.
I'm an old man nowadays, he says in TV4 Play.
But the American's scoring sense seems at least not to be getting worse with age. When Djurgården defeated Vimmerby 4–1 in Hockey Allsvenskan, the American scored a hat-trick.
The newly turned 30-year-old gave the home team the lead twice in the first period, and put his team in the driver's seat.
It was a bit uncomfortable during the first match (after the comeback away against Östersund), but today it feels much better, he says.
But the American would not have to leave without completing his hat-trick. In the third period, he scored the 4–1 goal, which also became the final result.
This is a match I'll never forget. It was really cool. Hearing all the supporters sing "Ja må du leva" was really cool... It was special.
The win means that Djurgården passes Södertälje in the table, and climbs to the top of the Hockey Allsvenskan series with one more match played.
