Currently, there is no statutory age limit for energy drinks, but the industry has agreed on a recommended age limit of 15. Now KD wants to see legislation.

"We have a sleep crisis in Sweden," says Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD).

Junk food advertising also needs to be restricted, according to the party, which wants to ban such advertising aimed at children and young people.

"We want to introduce 30 minutes of daily exercise in all primary schools in Sweden," says Forssmed.

Other proposals include a national health program for children and young people and a parental support program for everyone.

KD also wants to expand the leisure card to 6- to 19-year-olds. Today, children between 7 and 16 years old receive 550 SEK per year to use for leisure and sports activities.
