According to the new senior program that the party has developed, older people will be able to choose the gender of healthcare personnel who help with things like showering, lubrication and toileting, says Nike Örbrink (KD), who led the work on the new program.
I find it quite bizarre that as a woman today at an airport I can choose to have another woman search me, for example, but the day you get older and are in need of home care, then you are quite powerless over who is with you in quite intimate situations, Örbrink tells TV4.
The party also wants a "national suspension register" with information about staff suspected of committing abuse in elderly care.
