I made covers on it before, but didn't know I was going to decide to sing a little bit of it when I was up there, says Perry to E News.
Katy Perry went up into space with Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos' project Blue Origin – in a crew with five other women. The rocket "New Shepard" was supposed to have been in the air and space for eleven minutes, but they landed a couple of minutes before scheduled time.
Bezos opened
Once up in space, the capsule where the women were separated from the carrier rocket and the capsule landed near the Guadalupe Mountains in western Texas.
First out of the capsule was Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos' girlfriend. Bezos himself opened the capsule and welcomed the passengers back onto solid ground.
Among those on the journey were TV personality and CBS journalist Gayle King, who is also Oprah Winfrey's best friend.
Other participants were NASA-employed rocket researcher Aisha Bowe, researcher Amanda Nguyễn and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
Only women
This is space trip number eleven in order for Blue Origin with the rocket "New Shepard", named after Alan Shepard, the first American in space. So far, 58 people have made space trips with Blue Origin, but it's the first time the passengers are exclusively women.
The 40-year-old Katy Perry has said in interviews that she has dreamed of going to space for over 20 years. In the interview with E News, Perry says the whole space trip was "ten out of ten".
I recommend everyone who has the opportunity to try it, she says after landing.
However, going with Blue Origin is a rare privilege. When Bezos sold the first ticket to his space trips four years ago, it went for around 278 million kronor.
