Erik ten Hag was fired from Bayer Leverkusen after just two Bundesliga rounds.
Now it is clear that the Dane Kasper Hjulmand takes over as the new head coach.
"I have always seen Bayer 04 as a well-run, well-structured and very ambitious club. That image has been confirmed in recent days", says Hjulmand in a statement.
Hjulmand's latest coaching assignment was as national team captain for the Danish men's national team between 2020 and 2024.
Bayer Leverkusen is in twelfth place in the Bundesliga after two rounds and meets Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday.
