The danger to the general public is considered over and the VMA – important message to the general public – had been lifted on Monday morning, reports Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.

The fire was, however, still not under control on Monday afternoon.

It is a calm situation right now, but then it is far too much flammable material and too high temperatures in the area to say that it is under control, says rescue leader Patrik Appelgren to P4 Värmland.

But it is moving forward.

The fire started on Friday in recyclable materials at the facility. The rescue service had it under control, but on Sunday it flared up again and spread due to strong winds.

This also led to a significant smoke development, which prompted the general public to stay indoors and close doors and windows.
