The 33-year-old center made 20 short shifts, playing a total of 11:09 minutes in the home game that ended 3–1.

It's been a long road, but now I'm here, so it feels good, said William Karlsson before the match.

Karlsson last played in the NHL on November 8 and has been out due to a lower-body injury.

Swedish teammate and defenseman Rasmus Andersson assisted on Brett Howden's 1–0 goal in the second period. Anaheim tied the game with six minutes left when Mikael Granlund scored. A little over a minute later, Ivan Barbashev made it 2–1, and Mitch Marner made it 3–1 in the final seconds.
