Karlsson leaves Kalmar – for the champion club

Johan Karlsson, 23, is not going down to the Superettan with Kalmar FF. Instead, it will be a reunion with his old coach Henrik Rydström in "The Greatest Champions". The defensive player has signed with Malmö FF.

"He is fast, works hard and can play both to the right and left. Moreover, he is well-schooled and is both secure in his positioning and skilled one-on-one in defensive play", says Malmö FF's sports manager Daniel Andersson in a press release and continues:

"He has shown that he can perform at a high level. But he is at a good age and has the potential to grow even more."

The 23-year-old emerged through Sirius' academy and established himself in the A-team, with a certain Henrik Rydström as coach. And then Rydström also took him to Kalmar. Now Malmö's head coach has once again chosen to secure Karlsson's signature.

"It feels fantastic to be here. It's a privilege to represent the most successful team, with the opportunity to develop both as an individual and as a team. I strive to develop as much as possible and want to be part of winning titles", he says in a press release.

The contract is written for four years.
