Kalle Karlsson was recruited by Hammarby from Västerås for this season. It started well, including a big 8–1 home win against newcomers Örgryte in April.
But then they lost the cup final to Mjällby, and suffered several defeats thereafter. On Friday, it was announced that Karlsson would be fired.
It was no surprise, Karlsson said, and continued:
It's no secret that the weeks since the cup final have been a very tough period.
On Friday, Henrik Rydström was presented as the new coach of Hammarby, who are fourth in the league.
