Karlshamn Municipality is reporting serious deficiencies in home care services under the Sarah Act. The person was found dead in his apartment without having received a visit from home care services for a whole month.
Only after a neighbour raised the alarm was the deceased discovered.
An investigation shows that the person would probably have died anyway, but the deficiencies made it likely that the person lay dead in the home for longer than if the procedures had been followed.
According to the report, the home care service has shortcomings in its procedures, its documentation and its information transfer.
