The Arts Grants Committee awards the dancers and choreographers Karin Wiklund and Annica Styrke this year's Birgit Cullberg scholarship of 200,000 kronor.

Wiklund and Styrke jointly run the performing arts group Johanssons Pelargoner and Dance, whose work is mainly aimed at children and young people. The duo receives the award because they ”by challenging norms and exploring multilingualism as an artistic tool have created performing arts that are inclusive, thought-provoking and accessible to a wide audience – both nationally and internationally”, as part of the motivation reads.

The scholarship was established by the government on Birgit Cullberg's 90th birthday in 1998 and is awarded annually to a young choreographer.
