"After careful consideration, I have decided on my own to postpone my concert in Marseille, France, until further notice," the artist, who now goes by the name Ye, writes on X.
Previously, sources told AFP that French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez wanted to stop West's performance, which was scheduled to take place in June.
Earlier in April, the British government announced that it was barring the artist from entering the country, where he was scheduled to play three consecutive nights at a festival.
The artist has made increasingly harsh anti-Semitic statements in recent years, including releasing a song titled “Heil Hitler.” The 48-year-old, who has bipolar disorder, has since said he is “done with anti-Semitism.”
