Several Swedes are on site in Cyprus to participate in the annual competition European Throwing Games, the season premiere for outdoor competitors.
One of them is Vanessa Kamga, who on Sunday took gold in a tight final in her event, discus.
The Swede threw 63.25 meters, which is a new world's best performance for the year.
Kamga won ahead of Portuguese Liliana Ca and German Marta Steinacker, who threw 62.66 and 61.57 meters, respectively.
This is Sweden's first senior gold in the competition on Cyprus.
