It was in the third round that the 27-year-old hit the mark and sent the discus beyond 64 meters. The result was enough for fifth place, just 30 centimeters shy of the podium.
"It feels so great. I know it's there, but it's so fun to put it on at such a big competition," Kamga told SVT.
The competition was won by American Valarie Sion with a throw of 68.45 meters. Chinese Feng Bin came in second, while Dutch Jorinde van Klinken finished third.
