Kalmar is now in first place in the Swedish Hockey League after a 7–2 home win over AIK.

The main contributor to the victory was Canadian George Diaco, who scored a hat trick in the match. Fellow Canadian Liam Hawel scored two goals.

AIK took the lead through points leader Scott Pooley after five minutes, but Kalmar was able to equalize and turn the game around in the first period. The home team continued to be strong and the lead increased to 5–1 heading into the third period, where more goals awaited.

The victory means that Kalmar now moves to the top of the league, one point ahead of Björklöven, who have one game in hand. AIK is fifth.
