"The situation has been tense," says Kalmar's security manager Johan Åslund to Expressen.
The series between Kalmar and Södertälje in HockeyAllsvenskan has made headlines on and off the ice. Threats and harassment against players have led to police protection at the hotel.
"The police have patrolled and secured the area. I can't say more than that, or what level of preparedness they have," says Åslund.
The club has filed at least one police report after threats against George Diaco - who celebrated in front of Södertälje fans after scoring in the second match.
Kalmar leads the series 3-2 and can eliminate Södertälje tonight if they win.
