To just get to meet the world's best table tennis players is something to boast about. To give him an extra match as well.
But Anton Källberg was not satisfied with that. The 27-year-old Swede completely dominated Wang Chuqin in the World Championship tournament in Frankfurt and won the round of 16 in three straight sets, 11–8, 11–5, 11–6.
I don't know what to say. I'm obviously a bit overwhelmed by how I played today. I'm so pleased with my game, from the first ball to the end, says Källberg in the victory interview on WTT's YouTube channel.
For Wang, it's not the first time this year that a Swede has put a spanner in the works. During the summer's Olympic Games in Paris, it was a certain Truls Möregårdh who, on his way to his silver medal, defeated the Chinese world star.
Källberg created big headlines in Frankfurt already after the previous round. That time, clips from his match point against Egyptian Omar Assar went viral, after Källberg decided to switch hands on his racket at the last second and cheekily scored the winning point with his left hand.
And after Wednesday's upset victory over Wang Chuqin, Anton Källberg has a hard time taking in what he has achieved.
It's always something enormous to meet the world number one. And to be able to challenge him and play so well, that's something I've dreamed of since I was little. This is a big moment for me, says Källberg.
